Balance bikes are really suited for 2-5 year olds and the quality manufacturers such as Puky offer three different sizes, so please check our age and height recommendation against each bike, as with any kids’ bike it is very important to get the correct size. It is better that the bike is on the small as opposed to large size, because although you need to bear in mind that your child will grow very quickly, do not be over optimistic as to how large he or she is.

Both front and rear brake options are available on many of the balance bikes and having a brake has obvious safety benefits. Do though appreciate that not all children have the strength to use a brake, so don't rely on it! For obvious reasons it is best to restrict balance bike use to flat ground.
