Rainbows, bunnies & determination - an interview with gymnast Minnie

We had the pleasure of meeting 12 year old Acrobatic Gymnast Minnie and her family this month and see some of the awesome training she puts in on her Capital Play In ground trampoline.

Minnie is no ordinary 12 year old, with dreams of becoming a Cirque du Soleil performer - training up to 18 hours a week we have no doubt that she has what it takes. It was great to meet Minnie, take some photos and find out a bit more about her, her lifestyle and what it takes to win gold medals as a junior Acrobatic Gymnast.

Minnie's brother Harry is also a super talented Trampolinist, who has won several gold medals already and has high hopes for the 2020 Olympics. Their parent's decided to install their Capital In-ground Trampoline as Virginia (mum) said she couldn't stand the constant squeaking from their above ground trampoline! She also noted the neighbours were particularly pleased too!

We asked her a few questions to find out more:

How old are you?
Minnie: - 12

Who lives with you at home?
Minnie: - My parents and my brother Harry.

Do you have any pets?
Minnie: Cat called Chip and 4 Lionhead bunnies called Penelope, Fluffy, Floppy & Frizzles

What is your favourite subject at school?
Minnie:  Lunch 😂😂😂

What do you call your talent? (It’s professional title)
Minnie:  Acrobatic Gymnastics

When did you begin?
Minnie:  I was about 2 & 1/2

How often do you train?
Minnie: 6 times a week - 18 hours

Do you do any other sports?
Minnie:- I go running quite a bit

What are the best things about having an in-ground trampoline at home?
Minnie: - I love that I can just run out into the garden and practice, no climbing on and off. It’s a better quality jump than a regular trampoline as it doesn’t move.

If you could change one thing about your trampoline what would it be?
Minnie: That it comes in rainbow 😂

Capital Play: Awesome Idea, we've actually been playing around with new pad colour ideas, we'll bear this in mind!!

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years’ time?
Minnie: - Cirque du Soleil would be my dream and a house full of bunnies 😂

If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why?
Minnie:  A bunny, so I could stay and be friends with my bunnies all the time.

Do you think having a trampoline at home has improved your talent?
Minnie:  Definitely as I get to practice all my tumbling whenever I want to.

What is your favourite thing to do with your friends?
Minnie: Gym practice

What do you love most about your sibling?
Minnie: He is so kind and looks after me.

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer?
Minnie: Have friends over and hang out.

Do you ever trampoline to music? What do you listen to?
Minnie: No not to music. I love all current music but at moment I like Happier by Marshmallow

What would you do with £1000000?
Minnie: Build a gym in my garden with a sprung floor and foam pit.

What is your happiest memory?
Minnie: Getting my first gold medal

Describe yourself in one word
Minnie: Quirky
